that they provide consistent means of monitoring and measurement of the processes,) p6 g; q) s# s
product/service and customer satisfaction.
7 Z, J# |* B) }2 k, y6 EIt is appropriate to address these types of “equipment” whilst auditing conformance with+ @6 s/ T. Y+ I3 c* i$ Z
clause 8.2 “Monitoring and Measurement”. If an organization can demonstrate appropriate/ S: h _, Z% I. d2 F% h+ K
controls of such “equipment” under this clause, an auditor needs to realize that not5 |, L8 Z; I2 ]* j B9 s2 J
all the requirements related to Clause 7.6 may be applicable for such “equipment”.% `4 h# ~' ?- y `3 |7 }' F
The auditor needs to understand how the organization performs process control and the

an organization does not have measuring equipment that needs to be calibrated4 k% l% \: H I) l
does not mean that it can automatically exclude compliance with the whole of clause$ }4 Q. `% F+ n+ k
7.6; to do so would require that it also does not do any monitoring or measurement (see particularly the first two paragraphs of clause 7.6) and that it does not use any monitoring8 N# Y3 X6 @- g- f E
