* D1 {; n( g: D! C" cThese types of “equipment” should be controlled and validated accordingly to ensure
6 M4 A9 ]2 Y9 z6 o/ B2 S8 `: Zthat they provide consistent means of monitoring and measurement of the processes,
2 d8 {! H2 Y7 U$ Wproduct/service and customer satisfaction." `4 \5 P- D2 A3 j' [& _2 I
It is appropriate to address these types of “equipment” whilst auditing conformance with) E; W0 k' }- f
clause 8.2 “Monitoring and Measurement”. If an organization can demonstrate appropriate
4 B: i) |1 e9 V2 U- w& Q, X* acontrols of such “equipment” under this clause, an auditor needs to realize that not/ f/ I B- d. D) Q# n5 @
all the requirements related to Clause 7.6 may be applicable for such “equipment”.

impact that the information, obtained from using these types of “equipment”, has on this

When the impact is relevant, auditors should evaluate issues such as:

consistent with the monitoring and measurement requirements.

results.

equipment”

or part of the requirements of clause 7.6 may be excluded. It is stressed that just because
% d9 e, o8 ~: Y, qan organization does not have measuring equipment that needs to be calibrated6 q& h ~. j; ?1 \$ T& S" d
does not mean that it can automatically exclude compliance with the whole of clause
